Directions
- Heat a small saucepan over medium heat and add the butter. Once melted, add the diced apple and 1/2 teaspoon of the cinnamon. Stir occasionally for about 5 minutes until the apples are tender and caramelized. Remove half of the caramelized apples from the pot and reserve for topping.
- In the same saucepan with the remaining cooked apples, add the rolled oats, almond milk, nutmeg, remaining 1/2 teaspoon of the cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the oats are creamy and the apples are tender (about 5 minutes).
- Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in the FlavCity Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie and vanilla extract until well combined. If desired, add maple syrup or honey for extra sweetness.
- Transfer the cooked oats to a bowl. Top with the reserved caramelized apples, coconut yogurt, chopped nuts, and a drizzle of peanut butter. Enjoy!
Recipe notes:
- If using FlavCity plant-based protein smoothie, use two scoops instead of one.
