Cheesy waffles?! Yes, please! Grab a bag of our new plant-based, dairy-free Vanilla Cream Protein Smoothie and give this low-carb, high-protein Chaffle recipe a try! It’s kind of like a McGriddle… but in a waffle form! Cheese makes them savory, a drizzle of maple syrup makes them sweet, and our protein smoothie makes them high-protein. - Preheat a cast iron pan and place the sausage patty in the center. As it cooks, chop it into smaller pieces. Remove from heat once it's about 90% cooked. Set aside to cool.
- Then in a bowl mix the egg, cheese, FlavCity plant-based Protein Smoothie, baking powder, and psyllium husk.
- Once the sausage is cooled, add it to the batter and mix once more.
- Preheat a ceramic waffle maker, then spray with some avocado oil. Add the batter directly to the middle of the waffle maker and spread it out just a bit in an even circle. Slowly close the lid and cook it for 2-3 minutes or until it’s nice and golden.
- Serve with marinara sauce for more savory goodness or maple syrup for a sweet and savory delight! Enjoy!
