Need a quick fix for your chocolate craving but don’t want a sugar crash? I got you with this High-Protein Lava Cake that can be whipped up in minutes. This ‘mug cake’ is packed with nutrition because it’s made with our FlavCity Brownie Batter Protein Smoothie. It’s sweetened with a touch of maple syrup, plus it gets a boost of fiber from the easy homemade oat flour. A couple squares of good dark chocolate give it that satisfying and delectable lava ‘ooze’ in the center. You’ll be in warm, gooey chocolate heaven with this one! Makes 1 lava cake

Directions
  • In a microwave-safe mug or ramekin, mix together the oat flour, milk, FlavCity Brownie Batter Smoothie, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt until smooth.
  • Push a square or two of dark chocolate into the center of the batter. Make sure the batter covers the chocolate.
  • Microwave on high for 45 seconds. Check the cake's doneness, it should be set around the edges and slightly gooey in the middle. If it’s too wet, microwave in 10-second increments until just done.
  • Add whipped coconut cream or any desired toppings, and enjoy it warm!

Recipe notes:

If using FlavCity plant-based protein smoothie, be sure to increase the amount to 2 scoops.

If making this cake in the oven, preheat to 350F, use an oven-safe mug/ramekin, and bake for 15-20 minutes.
